Mobilize This Tuesday, August 12 to Stop "The Hub", Defend the Cahaba River, and Stop Irondale Sprawl

In Irondale, one of our favorite conservation and recreation sites is being threatened by a massive, luxury rental development near the Cahaba river. This project extends urban sprawl beyond the city's already overly expansive zoning plans.
The Hub at Grants Mill Road
A $7.5 million federal AMLER grant is poised to underwrite the Hub at Grants Mill, a luxury development poised to slice through untouched forest bordering the Cahaba River. This ecologically precious land offers recreation, flood mitigation, and water purification—assets we cannot afford to trade for short-term profits.
We must demand that the Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and Enforcement (OSMRE) and the Alabama Department of Labor halt the grant release and initiate a full environmental review.
